Hawk Conservancy Trust: Ways You Can Support the Trust

As well as supporting the Trust by becoming a member, volunteer, adopting or befriending one of the birds or mammals at the Trust, or attending one of our experience sessions there are other ways that you can support our work.

Membership

The Hawk Conservancy Trust has a thriving Membership who aid the work of the Trust in many different ways, including renewing their Membership annually, supporting our UK and overseas conservation projects, assisting with surveys and questionnaires, attending working days and volunteering. The cost of each Membership contributes to the costs of our important conservation projects, including:

  • Raptor Nest Box Project
  • Red Kite monitoring scheme
  • Injured birds of prey rehabilitation
  • International vulture conservation
  • Local biodiversity enhancement

Raptor Nest Box Project

The Raptor Nest Box Project is a nest box installation and monitoring scheme run by the Hawk Conservancy Trust that aims to address the lack of suitable nest sites for Barn Owls, Little Owls, Tawny Owls and Kestrels.

By subscribing to this project you will be contributing to the environmental survey of suitable habitat, the building and erection of nest boxes, monitoring of nest boxes, and the ringing and follow up health surveys on chicks.

Subscribe to the Raptor Nest Box Scheme now and give a homeless bird of prey somewhere to live.

One-off donations

Donations are a vital source of funding and go directly towards the conservation, education, rehabilitation and research work that we carry out with birds of prey.

You can donate a one-off lump sum using your credit/debit card over the phone by calling 01264 773850 or by making a donation, on–line, by following this link:

Gift Aid logoAs a charity we are able to claim Gift Aid on any donations made to the Trust. If you are a UK taxpayer and complete a Gift Aid declaration form we can claim an additional 25p in every £1 that you donate.

Regular donations

If you would prefer to make an instalment donation to the Trust - quarterly or annually, please consider setting up a Direct Debit or Standing order payment from your bank account. As little as £5.00 per month could make big a difference to our work. If you wish to set up a regular payment, please contact the Trust Office on 01264 773850 for a mandate form to take to your bank.

In Memoriam donations

Making a donation in memory of a loved one will help ensure a lasting legacy: conserving birds of prey and their habitats to be enjoyed and experienced by future generations.

Your donation could be a contribution to our general work or to a specific programme or project, such as our Bird of Prey Hospital, Raptor Nest Box Project, International Vulture Programme or our wildflower meadow, for example.

For more information or assistance please contact Carol Carter, Office Manager, on 01264 773850 or email carol@hawkconservancy.org.

Alternatively, please send your donation to: Dept IMD, Hawk Conservancy Trust, Visitor Centre, Sarson Lane, Weyhill, Andover, SP11 8DY.

Legacies

It is important to have an up to date will, and leaving a Gift to the Trust in your will is a valuable way to help birds of prey. Your support helps us to continue our vital work to conserve bird of prey species around the world, and to further our habitat and raptor conservation research, and to provide awareness and education programmes to the general public.

If you need to make a will the first step is to talk to a solicitor who specialises in Wills & Probate.  This will ensure that your will is legally correct and that all your wishes will be carried out as you requested.

Remember there are several types of legacy:

  • Residual – you may choose to leave whatever is left over once all your other legacies have been made and all costs met. This is the residue of your estate.
  • Specific – this is when you choose to leave a specific item such as a painting, books, jewellery, an area of land or even your home.
  • Pecuniary – this is when you leave a specific sum of money to a person, organisation or charity. Please remember that inflation may impact on the value of this legacy.

If you want to leave a donation in your Will to help the work of the Trust, your solicitor will need to know the following details:

Charity Name:  The Hawk Conservancy Trust
Registered Charity Number: 1092349
Address: Visitor Centre, Sarson Lane, Weyhill, Andover,  Hampshire, SP11 8DY
What donation you want to leave: e.g. a share of your estate or a set sum
