Every spring the Hawk Conservancy Trust is involved in the rearing, rehabilitation and release of many young birds of prey, from Tawny Owls to Kestrels.
These wild birds are brought to our specialist bird of prey hospital, by members of the public, or animal welfare organisations, for a whole variety of reasons and some from incredibly young ages – we have even had eggs brought in!
Our hospital has facilities devoted to raising chicks, such as incubators, adapted hospital bays and special rehabilitation aviaries, where they can develop their flight muscles prior to release. The young birds are supported by the Trust until they are able to fend for themselves in the wild, at which time they are released.
Are you able to support us in this work by sponsoring a young bird of prey?
Sponsorship is just £24.75, is for one season only and will contribute towards care and feeding costs of young wild birds of prey.
In return we will send you:
- a sponsors certificate
- a picture of your sponsored young bird
- results report about our young bird rehabilitation project
