Words from the Hawk Conservancy Trust Chairman ~ Marion Paviour

“Everything changes, but nothing changes!   The Trust has now been in operation since 2004 following the family business started by Reg and Hilary Smith and subsequently by Hilary and their son, Ashley.

Reg and Hilary had always dreamed of turning the business into a Charity and Ashley eventually was able to fulfil this dream and hand over the reins to Trustees. The passing years have seen the Trust and its supporters grow beyond belief and we have built up a team who are second to none. After so many years the responsibility of running the day to day business of the Trust by Ashley is changing and he will assume the title of Executive Life President. He will become the elder statesman - always available with his vast store of knowledge and expertise to assist the management team in taking the Trust forward to further heights of excellence.

We are fortunate in his successor as Chief Executive in finding Penny Smout, an Oxford graduate with a string of successful business experiences behind her, both in America and the UK. She has a BA, MSc. and MBA with over fifteen years of experience in management and marketing both as an entrepreneur and in major corporations. She has designed and won numerous strategy and marketing projects including a major investment project of $16 million. She is committed, analytical, highly intelligent and has a passionate interest in taking the Trust forward to an even higher level of international excellence.

Penny is wholeheartedly supported by her husband, Don, who works at the University of Southampton and her young son, Toby, who is already demanding to become a volunteer at the age of eight! We shall look forward to a long and happy relationship and wish her every success in her new role”.

The official hand-over takes place in February 2012.
