BCOT held a training course here at the Trust. Sandy, the tree surgeon, arrived for two weeks' work at the Trust. Several areas of trees were thinned out to allow more light around the park, and to produce some more perches that can be used in the meadow and in the Harris' Hawk flying arena. Wild Arena visited to have a trial day to work out some winter shots for their photo experience days featuring Northern species of raptors.

Anya attended a VAT and taxation conference in London. Interviews were held for a new Marketing Manager at the Trust. The successful applicant was Gale Gould who started work at the Trust at the beginning of December.

King Vulture
Ashley gave an evening talk about the history of the Trust to Stratford-sub-Castle guild. A new King Vulture arrived at the Trust from Rome Zoo. He is currently in quarantine in the rehabilitation aviary, and we hope to find a mate for him to set up a new breeding pair.

The Trust gave a Schools Outreach talk to Solent Infants School.

A group from Scottish Provident held a half-day experience session at the Trust. Chris Packham attended the Trust to set up some photography shots with a Sparrowhawk and a Hawk Owl.

Sam gave a presentation about the Fund A Bird project to some of the sponsors.
A reunion meal was held for all of the staff and volunteers that travelled to South Africa for the ringing programme, giving a chance for members of Team White Back to exchange photos and memories.

Claire Pitcher and a photographer from Hampshire Life magazine visited the Trust for a day's bird handling session for a feature in the January edition.

Test Valley Borough Council held an all day meeting in the Trust's Griffon Room.

Ashley gave a talk about the Trust's history at the Burghclere Down Community Centre.
The Trust entered winter opening hours from the 1st November, opening to the public at weekends only. During the week staff and volunteers were and are busy tidying the grounds, leaf raking and carrying out general maintenance work around the grounds. A new storage facility is being built to hold wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
