The year has been quite busy so far. We have treated twenty six wild birds and four birds from the park. As you will see we have seen one or two unusual causes to the injuries.
The staff have treated the following birds:
Eight Buzzards:
|
|
| Barn Owl in the recovery aviary |
|
|
| Peregrine Falcon with a badly swollen wing |
Five of these birds were released back into the wild after treatment.
Nine Tawny Owls:
One Kestrel suffered a wing fracture after it was seen fighting with another Kestrel in a garden. This bird was euthanased.
Three Barn Owls:One Long Eared Owl was admitted suffering tail damage and other injuries resulting from collision with a car. It was euthanased by our vet.
Two Sparrowhawks were admitted. One died from its injuries soon after arriving in the hospital and the other one had a head injury and is still receiving treatment.
Two Peregrine Falcons arrived. One had a wing fracture and was euthanased by our vet, the second one arrived via our friends at Wiltshire Wildlife with a badly swollen wing. It is still receiving treatment and responding well.| Click here for previous Hospital Updates |
