The Hawk Conservancy Trust is pleased to announce a series of winter fundraising talks to be held over the 2007/2008 winter season. The talks will take place on selected Saturday evenings in our education centre, starting at 7pm. The cost will be £10 per person which includes an interval break with tea, coffee and cake.
Saturday 10th November: “A
year in my organic Garden” by Wendy Ellicock.
Wendy’s garden is over 2 acres, and is listed most years in the Yellow
Book, Gardens of England and Wales open to the public.
Her main interests are growing her own fruit and vegetables, but also gardening
for wildlife. Her garden has 2 large ponds, a woodland walk and a wildflower
meadow. Wendy runs an organic gardening course at West Dean College, as well
as teaching people at home.
Tuesday 20th November: "Postcards from Paradise"
by Chris Packham
Chris, renowned television presenter, photographer and author will
talk to us about people, places and maybe a few photo tips in his ‘Postcards
from Paradise’ presentation.
Chris has worked in front of and behind the camera for over 20 years, presenting
a large and varied range of wildlife programmes including ‘The Really
Wild Show’, ‘Birdwatch’, ‘Go Wild’,
and more recently ‘Hands on Nature’ and ‘Nature’s
Calendar’ on BBC2.
Join Chris and the Wildlife Worldwide team at the Hawk Conservancy Trust for
an evening of drinks, food, owl flight demonstrations, close up encounters and
some ‘wild’ chat. All proceeds will go to ‘The Hawk Conservancy
Trust’ in Andover.

Saturday 8th December : “From
Weyhill Wildlife Park to the Hawk Conservancy Trust” by
Ashley Smith.
A light-hearted look back at some of the people, animals and birds that have
made up the colourful history of the park. This is a must for any new members
or anyone that missed out last year.
Saturday 19th January 2008: Mike Mockler, International
Wildlife Photographer and Wildlife Tour guide.
Mike's skills and professionalism as a safari guide and wildlife tour leader
are well known and have been the subject of feature articles in magazines like
“Geographical”, “Bird Watching” and “BBC Wildlife”.
“Conde Naste Traveller” magazine identified him as one of the world’s
top ten wildlife travel specialists. He is the author of many articles on natural
history, conservation, African wildlife, ornithology and travel as well as two
books about British birds. A respected ornithologist, he has broadcast many
times on radio and television, given over 650 slide shows and is a successful
nature photographer. His talk will cover his many trips to the African continent,
and the birds and wildlife he has photographed there.
