Typical length of visit

In our experience most visitors stay for between four and five hours. Many are surprised at how much there is to occupy their time at the Trust, often thinking they will spend an hour or so here, and ending up not leaving until 5.30pm!! Our activities start at 11.00am with our Wild Red Kite and Heron Feed, three displays at 11:45am, 2.00pm and 3.30pm, each in a different location and featuring a different team of birds, and the day ends with our second Red Kite and Heron feed at 4.30pm, and often lots more in between. For full details of a normal days timetable at the Trust, visit our daily timetable section (remember at weekends and school holidays there are often extra activities available).

Duffy's Coffee Shop is open all season and offers a range of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and filled baguettes, snacks, and ice creams. Lunches are available, with homemade soup and a hot meal of the day. Don't forget to join us for a Sunday roast lunch throughout the winter!

Picnic areas are located around the Park - please dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided.

The Reception/Trust Shop sells a wide variety of quality gifts and souvenirs, including hand engraved crystal from a local artist, and the world famous Swarovski binoculars, as well as Trust branded clothing. There is something to suit all budgets. We also stock films, batteries, and disposable cameras. The Trust shop stocks a wide range of gifts for Christmas and other occasions.

The reception staff can also provide information on or make bookings for any of the Trust's activities.

We accept all major credit and debit cards in the shops but not American Express.

Pass Out. You do not need to carry everything with you. Keep your admission ticket to return to your car and re-enter the Conservancy during your visit.

First Aid. There are several First Aid points around the grounds and there are trained first aiders on the staff. If you need assistance, please contact the Reception or any member of staff, who will summon help by radio.

Lost children will be escorted to the Trust Shop while a search is made for their responsible adult. If you lose your child, contact any member of staff immediately.

Parent and Baby Room is located near the Gift Shop and Toilets and has baby wipes and nappy disposal sacks.

Smoking is not permitted in any building within The Hawk Conservancy Trust, the covered patio area or at flying grounds during displays, although you may smoke around the grounds - please take care to dispose of cigarettes properly.

Facilities for children: Raptor Passport Trail, adventure play area, toddlers' play area, education centre with information boards and interactive computer quizzes, hold a British bird of prey after flying demonstrations. During weekends and school holidays there are runner duck races and Raptor Safari tractor and trailer rides (weather permitting). Please do not allow children to climb over any barriers or on trees or garden areas. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times on the play areas.

Children under the age of 16 are not allowed into the Trust unless they are supervised and accompanied by an adult

What are the restrictions on photography if not on a Photographic Day?

From a safety point of view it is not permitted to climb over any fences or barriers to take photographs. As a common courtesy, please do not obstruct other visitors' views of the display in order to get your image, and please listen to any specific instructions given about photography during displays.

if you wish to publish your photographs, We ask that full credit be given to the Hawk Conservancy Trust. If you wish to use your photos for commercial purposes, please ask permission of the Trust first. We would also ask that you consider making a donation of a percentage of any profits made, towards the work of the Trust. If photos are commissioned for commercial purposes, a charge may be applied by the Trust for their use.

Dogs are not permitted inside the Park (apart from assistance dogs), but there are shaded areas of the car park set aside for vehicles containing dogs, and you are a liberty to move between the Park and the car park as often as you wish, in order to keep an eye on your animal(s).
