There are several eating options available depending on the time of year and the weather.

Duffy's Coffee Shop is open from 10.30am and serves traditional English cooked breakfasts to order.

For lunch there is hot soup with crusty rolls, a hot dish of the day, baked potatoes with a variety of fillings, pizza or quiche - all served with a side salad.

Available until 4pm are paninis with a choice of fillings with a side salad, sandwiches and baguettes with a variety of fillings and children's picnic boxes including a drink.

Enjoy a hearty roast lunch on Sundays during our winter opening.

To complement all these choices are a delicious selection of homemade cakes, biscuits, muffins, Danish pastries, flapjacks and shortbread and cream teas with local clotted cream.

A wide range of teas, fruit and herbal infusions, coffee and the favourite Duffy's hot chocolate with or without cream and marshmallows - all served from your choice of cup or mug. You can choose from chilled bottled water, canned drinks, fizzy drinks or juices to drink in or take away.

Customers are free to eat in Duffy's, at tables under the trees or on the covered patio.

Barbecues - On Sundays and some Saturdays and weekday during holiday times, weather permitting, we provide a barbecue with beef burgers, chicken burgers, hot dogs and vegetarian burgers. Tables and seats are provided under the trees. The barbecue is particularly popular with children.

Ice cream is available throughout the day in the Coffee Shop and on warm weekends from the mobile trike.

Picnics in the Meadow

Would you like to enjoy a picnic lunch or afternoon tea in our beautiful wildflower meadow? Forget preparing sandwiches, carrying picnic boxes and tidying up afterwards. Pre book your hamper at Duffy’s Coffee Shop before 11.00am for a picnic lunch, or before 2pm for afternoon tea. At your reserved picnic area, table and chairs will be set up and your hamper will be waiting for you on arrival. After your meal the area will be cleared by Trust staff allowing you to carry on enjoying your day at the Trust. Cost £10 per head for a picnic lunch hamper, and £7.50 per head for an afternoon tea hamper. Can be pre-booked in advance of your visit by calling the office on 01264773850. Picnics and afternoon teas are available to purchase as a Gift Voucher for a special occasion. Please contact the main office for details.
