Fundraising Event – Your ticket will support the charitable work of the Hawk Conservancy Trust

We’re excited to share that our magical Winter Woodland Lights event will be returning for January 2024! The Hawk Conservancy Trust will once again become even more magical, with beautiful illuminations and a live owl display set in a stunning, colourful woodland.

This sparkling start to the year is one of our most popular events, and this time you’ll get to explore our brand new self-led trail, bringing the Trust grounds to life like never before. There’ll be even more lights, a new story to tell with new music and effects to amaze and inspire. To finish off a dazzling evening the trail will lead to you to the woods where our beautiful owls will take flight for a truly breath-taking new show. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store-  it’s going to be an event like no other!

The event starts at 6:00pm or 8:00pm depending on which session you have booked. Feathers Restaurant will be open for food from 5:00pm.

Please note: the Trust is not open during the day before the event.  The Trust is closed during the day from Thursday 4 January to Friday 9 February 2024.

Book ahead and have something to look forward to in January!

Other useful information about your evening

What should I wear?

We recommend dressing for the weather! Wrap up warm, the display takes place outside.  We advise visitors that we have a natural countryside setting and sensible footwear and appropriate clothing for outdoors are recommended.

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring your camera! There’ll be some dazzling photo opportunities to get the whole family involved with! Please note no flash photography is permitted during the event. You may want to bring a torch, we ask that you switch them off during the displays and that you don’t shine them into our aviaries.

What to expect when you arrive

Upon arrival at the Trust, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a bite to eat in Feathers Restaurant and browse the Trust shop and explore some of our illuminations at your leisure.  Feathers Restaurant will take last orders for meals twenty minutes before the flying displays take place, but will be open for hot drinks and snacks until the spectacular display of music, light and owl flight begins in our Woodland Arena.

In order to cool and disinfect themselves, New World vultures urinate over their legs. This is called urohydrosis.
