Indian White-backed Vulture It is a well known myth that the presence of a camera shields you from all ills. Proof of this, were it needed, is in the number of visitors who stand up with a camera in the flight path of a large eagle or vulture, knowing that, although everyone else needs to duck, the camera will protect them (I did the same thing last year taking a close-up of a very dodgy looking snake in the wild on Hawk Mountain. Generally terrified of the things, I felt safe behind the camera). Tony is either aware of this and getting closer with each shot, or playing safe (sensibly) and using his zoom feature.
