Behind-the-scenes Winter Experience

During the winter, we offer the rare chance for you and a companion to have an exclusive experience behind the scenes here at the Hawk Conservancy Trust. Your day will be run either by Cedric Robert or Ben Cox from our Bird Team.

Whilst the Trust grounds are closed to the general public, you will be granted special access to accompany your host to feed and fly a variety of iconic birds, accessing areas not normally open to the public to really see the work of the Trust. With an expert at your fingertips, you’ll be able to ask everything you wish to know about working with birds, the Trust and our impressive birds.

Cédric has worked with us since 2006 and Ben since 2015: they will be delighted to share their extensive knowledge with you during the day. This experience will give you the chance to learn about and fly a variety of awe-inspiring birds, and promises to be a truly memorable occasion to cherish forever. Be sure to bring a camera to capture shots of the birds and those magical moments.

Frequently asked questions:

Can I bring guests?

We regret that additional participants are not permitted to join the experience for any reason.

What should I wear?

We would like to advise visitors that we have a natural countryside setting and sensible footwear and appropriate clothing for outdoors are recommended. Please also avoid wearing bright coloured clothing. Most walkways are laid paths; however you may find some natural unevenness in the other areas within our grounds.

The majority of this experience session will be held outside so warm clothing is necessary.

Do I need any special equipment?

All necessary training and equipment are supplied.

Can I take photos during my experience?

Yes! We are more than happy for you to take photographs as a memento of your day. A member of our team can take photos for you.
