Lloyd and Rose Buck Experience

In a small group, you can spend an intimate, full-day experience with Lloyd and Rose and their adorable birds, stars of numerous TV and film appearances, from natural history programmes to advertisements.

Bird man Lloyd Buck is a bird specialist and along with their Barn Owls, he and Rose were the stars of Super-powered Owls, prominent participants in the recent Life in the Air and are regular stars of BBC’s Springwatch. You may have seen close-up shots of Whooper Swans or Greylag Geese flying in formation with David Attenborough, or maybe Chris Packham and Kate Humble meeting a flock of starlings. These were all Lloyd and Rose’s birds.

The Secretary Bird’s name could originate from two theories. The first is that it looks are like the old-fashioned secretaries who carried quill pens behind their ears. Alternatively, it could come from the Arabic ‘saqr-et-tair’. Saqr means ‘hunter’ or ‘hawk’ and tair means ‘flight’ or ‘bird’.
