Children's Owl Experience

(half day, ages 6-11)

Since the launch of the Harry Potter books, owls have become one of the most popular and well loved of all the Bird of Prey species, and this course allows children the opportunity to get close to and fly some of these beautiful creatures.

During the experience there will be the chance to learn how to identify British Owls both by sight and from their calls, with a short fun quiz to see how much you have learnt.

Have a go at dissecting a wild owl pellet, and try and identify what the owl has eaten.

You will also have the chance to fly several species of owl from both Britain and around the world during your owl experience.

During a break for drinks and biscuits, you will be joined by one of the Trust’s Barn Owls, and have the chance to view this stunning bird at close quarters.

This is not an intensive course, but a fun session design for children and their accompanying adult to learn more about owls, and the work that the Trust does with them, and is set at the pace of the guests on the day.

These sessions are held in the morning only (10am – 1pm), on specific dates during the school holidays/weekends and are limited to a maximum of 6 children per day.

Places on sessions must be pre-booked, and the gift voucher covers the session for the child and 1 (one) accompanying adult.

The Owl Experience is currently priced at £55.00 per person.These experience sessions can be booked for a particular day, or can be given as a Gift Voucher, making an ideal Christmas or birthday gift. Purchase vouchers from our online Ticket Shop. All vouchers are valid for 10 months from date of purchase, allowing guests to choose their day with us.

All items ordered will be dispatched by First Class post within 2-3 days of your order. However if your order is urgent we can arrange special (next day) delivery at extra cost. Please add this postage option to your purchase.
