“Goose” the Bateleur Eagle
The second member’s night of the year. Over 200 members enjoyed an Indian summer evening. With displays of the 100 club, raffle and a “where on the park ?” photo competition and lots of BBQ food and wine members are entertained before the start of the evening. The theme was the circle of life, and each section was lead by a cameo performance by volunteer Jan Jacobs and his display boards. It featured a first public appearance by Kipling, who proceeded to put everyone off their BBQ with table manners at feed time. It also featured first time appearances by some of our new young birds including: a pair of yellow billed kites, Tolkien the Milky Eagle Owl and “Goose” the Bateleur Eagle. The evening rounded off with our Research Students reviewing their work and results for us.
