To promote the Trust launching the Griffon Rooms as a wedding reception venue and possibly as a civil wedding venue (if licence agreed), Kim gamely volunteered to dress as a bride for some brochure pictures. Wearing Tracey's wedding dress (with walking boots underneath), after an hour with some curling tongs and some suitable summer locations a blushing bride photo was achieved.
4th Oct

A naming ceremony was held in the Griffon Rooms for the Batchelor family.
Thames Valley motor cycle group visited the Trust.
Campbell departed for fieldwork on the White-headed Vulture project at a new site in central Mozambique.

A group of eleven Trust staff, volunteers and supporters travelled to Africa for the White-backed Vulture project

The aim of the week was to fit satellite transmitters to four birds to allow them to be tracked via our website, and to help ring young chicks in the nest.

Mrs Derrick held an anniversary party in the Eyrie.

Bonnallack & Bishop solicitors held their breakfast club meeting at the Trust.

A private Owls By Moonlight evening was held for Chute Garden Club
15th Oct
Sam hosted a presentation evening for Fund A Bird sponsors.

Ashley and Tracey attended the BIAZA parliamentary reception at the Houses of Commons. More than 30 zoos were represented.

The Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) had a private Owls By Moonlight as a fundraising event.

Andrew and Carole
A proposal during the Harris' Hawk flying session! At an agreed time a Hawk was flown to Carole with a message attached to its equipment. The message read, "Will you marry me?" and, as Carole read it, Andrew went down on one knee and produced a ring. A round of applause came from the Trust visitors when Carole said "Yes"!

Gale Gould attended a wild bird care event at Wyevale Garden Centre.

Rich Harris presented a cheque to Ashley in support of the work of the Fund A Bird project. Rich cycled over 180 miles around Somerset to help raise funds for the project.

A private Owls By Moonlight was held jointly for the Rotary Club and Andover Shopmobility to raise funds for their causes.

The welcoming witch Ghoulies and ghosties! Ghoulies and ghosties!
Things went bump in the night, when guests to the Trust's Halloween Owls By Moonlight evening were met by scary mix of ghouls and ghosts.
