The Trust received a call from the Guernsey equivalant of the RSPCA regarding a Peregrine Falcon that had become covered in a glue-like substance. The Trust agreed to care for the bird, and it was flown to Southampton by the Specsavers private jet. Kim met it at Southampton airport and filmed for the South Today news programme. The bird spent a few days in the hospital, and was washed in detergent to remove the substance. A member donated the fee to have the substance analysed, and it proved to be a natural oil. It is believed to be Fulmar oil, as there was a colony near to the Peregrine eyrie, and a Fulmar's natural defensive behaviour is to vomit over its attackers. The bird also had sand stuck on its feathers, and its believed that the bird had tried to have a sandbath to remove the oil. A few days later, thanks again to Specsavers, Paul returned to the island and released the bird back to its territory.
