Half Day with Birds of Prey

Guest with Milky Eagle Owl
Guest with Milky Eagle Owl
This three hour session is designed to give guests the opportunity to get close to and learn more about Birds of Prey, and enjoy being in their company.

You will be met at the Trust reception by your two hosts for the day. After a brief introduction to your fellow guests and a run through the course itinerary, your experience will begin. The course is limited to a maximum of 4 guests to allow a more intimate and personal experience with the birds.

Your day will include handling and flying a range of Birds of Prey that are to be found here at the Trust, and may include owls, kites and eagles. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the conservation work that we carry out here at the Trust.

The session ends with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills you have learned during the day, by flying a Hawk in your own private arena.

This is not an intensive course to teach guests how to practise falconry or keep birds, but a taster session, set at the pace of the guests on the day, to learn about and to handle Birds of Prey and to have an intimate insight into the work of the Hawk Conservancy Trust.

The morning sessions run from 10am - 1pm. For the afternoon session you will be met by your instructors at 1.45pm and taken to watch the Valley of Eagles before commencing your course. This session will finish at 5.30pm. During the winter season (November - February only morning sessions will take place due to light conditions in the afternoon)
