Since the launch of the Harry Potter books, owls have become one of the most popular and well loved of all Birds of Prey . This course allows children, with an accompanying adult, the opportunity to get close to, fly and learn about these beautiful birds.

During the experience there will be the chance to improve your identifying skills of British Owls by both sight and from their calls, with a short fun quiz to see how much has been learnt.

Everyone can have a go at dissecting a wild owl pellet, and try and identify what the owl has eaten. Perhaps the adults in the party can help with matching the bones that are found to the identification charts.

There will also be the chance to fly several species of owl from both Britain and around the world during your owl experience

During a break for drinks and biscuits, you will be joined by one of the Trust's Barn Owls, and have the chance to view this stunning bird at close quarters.

Don't forget to bring your camera as there will lots of opportunities for the adults to take photos of the children with the birds.

This is not an intensive course, but a fun session designed for children and their accompanying adult to learn more about owls, and the work of the Trust. These sessions are held in the morning only (10am - 1pm), on specific dates during the school holidays/weekends and are limited to a maximum of 6 children per day.
