Kestrels are declining at an alarming rate in many parts of the UK. The reasons for this are unknown, and until we can figure out why, this iconic British species could be at risk of disappearing from our landscape. We are working hard to discover the reasons behind the Kestrel decline, and are about to start working with methods never before used in Britain. With your help, we can carry out this vital scientific research and put conservation actions into place to help this species.
To celebrate 60 years, we’re hoping to raise £60,000 to support this much-needed expansion of our ongoing conservation work with Kestrels.
Throughout this monumental year, members of staff from all across the Hawk Conservancy Trust team are coming together for a mega fundraising challenge! From running marathons to taking on assault courses, our aspiring team will be taking on different physical challenges to test their strength, stamina and endurance.

Kicking off our year of fundraising challenges in a big way, Tom is running his first EVER race – and it’s the London Marathon! He’s been training hard for this incredible challenge and know he’ll absolutely smash it.

Vicky has the important role at the Trust of making sure all the money fundraised goes to the right place. After being inspired to get involved in our first Team Trust fundraising challenge last year, this year she’s taking on a 5k obstacle course!

Last year, Denise partook in several challenges to support the Team Trust fundraising challenge. She’s back at it again this year, taking on multiple races to support our work with Kestrels.

Louise is a reluctant runner, often up before the crack of dawn to hit the pavement. Despite this, she ran her first 10k last year as art of the Team Trust fundraising challenge, even though the official race was cancelled! This year, she’s taking on the Reading 10k.

A self-professed adrenaline junky, Lauren isn’t afraid to get muddy for a good cause! Having previously accomplished her second 5km Tough Mudder last year, Lauren is ready to run, jump, climb and crawl back in to support Kestrels.

Clarendon Marathon
Cedric is well-known at the Trust as a veteran marathon runner, he’s run multiple marathons and took part in the London Marathon in 2023 to raise over £6000 for our Raptor Nest Box Project. He’s back to running more enduring countryside marathons, where the added difficulty of elevation makes this challenge even more difficult.

Jamie is taking on his first ever half marathon! He’ll be taking on the challenge of the Clarendon Half Marathon, a beautiful route through the countryside where he’ll encounter adverse terrain and dramatic elevation.
