The Vulture Restaurant and keeper’s talk is an excellent opportunity to learn about Vultures and watch them feed as a group. We have several species of vulture at the Trust, but our large mixed aviary, which contains African white-Backed, Oriental white-Backed and European Black Vulture, is a great place to see them in action and hear about our work in vulture conservation.
Did you know?
Vultures can eat, as well as digest, meat in any stage of decay even if it is contaminated with diseases such as anthrax, botulism, cholera and typhoid without any ill effects. (However, a man-made drug - Diclofenac - kills them).
