Birds of prey hold a great fascination for many people, and we understand the desire to get closer to and learn more about these majestic creatures. Join this half-day experience and let our knowledgeable team feed your fascination!
During your experience session, we will introduce you to a number of our resident birds and you will have the opportunity to handle and work with various species, including eagles, kites, owls, hawks and vultures. We’ll also give you an insight into our work with young and injured birds, as well as the conservation and research work that we do both in the UK and overseas.
These intimate experience sessions are limited to small groups of up to six guests, with two members of our team guiding and informing you through your day. These three hour experience sessions are available in the morning or afternoon:
Afternoon sessions are half an hour longer as they include a break to watch the 2pm flying display. If you book a morning session, you are welcome to stay at the Trust after your session to enjoy the rest of our daily activities and displays. If you book an afternoon session, you are welcome to join us in the morning, before your session begins.
Please call us on 01264 773850 (between 9am and 5pm) and have your voucher number to hand.
This experience must be pre-booked. Due to the popularity of this experience, early booking is required. Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase; an expiry date is shown inside your gift card. Please note your experience must be booked and fulfilled before the expiry date shown. Once the voucher has expired, the experience and any related monies are forfeited.
Your guests are welcome to visit the Trust (normal admission rates apply) but only the person booked on the experience can participate in this experience session. We regret that additional participants are not permitted to join the experience for any reason. If you have friends or family visiting the Trust for the day, a maximum of two people can join you to take photographs. Please notify your hosts on the day if you have such guests, and you will be advised about the meeting time and place for them to join you.
We would like to advise visitors that we have a natural countryside setting and sensible footwear and appropriate clothing for outdoors are recommended. Please also avoid wearing bright coloured clothing. Most walkways are laid paths; however you may find some natural unevenness within our grounds.
All necessary training and equipment are supplied.
Yes! We are more than happy for you to take photographs as a memento of your day, and our staff at the experience session will be on hand to take pictures of you with the birds.
If severe weather threatens, the Trust may cancel the event by 2pm the day before. Please contact the office on 01264 773850 after 2pm the day before your experience to confirm that the weather conditions are suitable for your experience to take place.
